A word of advice from a Uni Student (Misty UOM)

- Identify what you think you might like to do (what things really interest you?)
- Break the big goal into small achievable goals
- Know that achieving each small goal is a success
- Remember the pathways you take are the result of making many individual decisions
- Get as much information as possible – find information on uni, TAFE, short courses
- Have a plan ‘B’ & ‘C’
- Access the resources within your school – talk regularly with careers advisers and teachers
- Use family & friends as a sounding board – it is important to have their support
- Attend open days at a number of different universities – talk to lecturers and students, visit websites and read course information brochures
- If possible talk to people who may be working within the fields that you are interested in.
