Luke G

Aug 2008: Luke is considering a trade in plumbing or building (as a second choice at this stage) as a career.  He is doing TAFE Tasters in plumbing during Term 3.  Will trial VCE in Sem 1 2009 and see how he goes and drop back to VCAL if needed.

Sep 2008: Luke is interested in doing work experience with a glazier.

Harley-Ace Freeman

freeman-harley-ace.jpgMay 2008: Harley is an ENFP likes hands on stuff, is creative, a bit scientific (likes new ideas) and prefers the outdoors.  Harley identified a number of areas as a career interest: Defence, Body Art (Piercing), Car Detailer and Ambulance Officer.  We tried a number of places for work experience, the tattoing/piercing places in Shep weren’t very helpful, and work experience at the Fire Station proved problematical.  Ambulance has privacy restrictions.  Harley ended up getting work experience at Heywoods Panel Beating in Shepparton – which he really enjoyed.

July 2008:  Harley is doing TAFE Tasters, one day a week at Shep TEC plumbing.  His current career interests are plumbing, spray painting / panel beating.

Brett Kimberley

kimberley-brett.jpg2008: Brett is an ESFJ who likes hands on stuff, is creative, scientific and doesn’t like being couped up indoors.  Brett is negotiating with Mr Rhodes for plumbing work experience and then would like to try Building with Bruce Collins in another month or so, and electrical futher down the track.

2009: Brett is undertaking VET Plumbing at Shep TEC…

Iain

mapletoft-iain.jpgSem 1 2008: Iain has identified that he is interested in Electrical, Engineering or Plumbing/Roofing. He is unsure about what he really wants to do, and is willing to try a few different types of work experience to try and figure out which he likes best. Iain is ISTP and likes hands on stuff, outdoors, creating things and might be OK at business things. He organised work experience on the home farm, and you can read all about his week by clicking on the comments link below.
