Oct 09: Meghan is interested in the hospitality industry as a chef… she is also considering working with older people as a care attendant…

Oct 09: Kim is interested in Agricultural Science as a career.  She has a part time job in Brereton’s Bakery in Numurkah.  She would like to go to Uni to study Agriculture.

Oct 09:  Austen has trialled work experience in hospitality earlier this year but would be keen to watch a jeweller at work – Mr Emilio will use his contacts to try and get half day with a jeweller.

April 2009: Sean is interesting in becoming a Baker.

Sem 1 2008: Ashlee is interested in Cooking as a career.

Sept 2008: Ashlee would like to organise work experience in Melton (staying with relatives) at a nice restaurant and has given me a list of telephone numbers.  If she is in Melbourne these holidays, she should pop into one of them to enquire about work experience – that way she can get an understanding of the place and the employers can meet her.

Sem 1 2008: Jacqui is interested in Hospitality/cooking.  Unfortunately the TAFE Tasters for Term 3 didn’t see enough participants to go ahead.  She is thinking about University either as a primary teacher or a home eco teacher, but is not quite sure yet.

Aug 2008: Considering Primary Teaching Bendigo LaTrobe…. Thinking of VET cooking at McGuire….

Aug 2008:  Jackie has decided to go into PS Teaching at Bendigo LaTrobe…. excellent!

Sep 2008: Jackie is going to approach Num PS for work experience.  She would like to help out with the younger year levels.  She has also expressed some interest in becoming a flight attendant or a travel agent.  Jackie has part time work at Dairy Delights.

Sem 1 2008: Mikey has two particular interests, becoming a chef and sheet metal work.  He had work experience at the Shamrock and did a sensational job.  He would be interest in a school based apprenticeship in cooking or an engineering VET course.

Stacey is well organized and has completed Certificate II in Hospitality and has gone onto start her Cert III. She wants to complete a Diploma in Event Management at TAFE and will explore locations for employment opportunities thereafter.  She is happy with her VCE to date and feels on top of everything…

Amanda was initially thinking about just finishing VCE and then doing a body piercing course and working for a friend. She was also interested in doing some bar work as well. After a bit of discussion she also is interested in Arboriculture and might do something later in life. When we discussed life style and money she then realized that a bit of short term effort in VCE would open up possibilities and she could go onto do a degree on Horticulture which could lead to a better paying career.  We then developed a timetable to increase her homework from two hours p/wk to possibly ten…
