Johnstone, DanielOct 09: Daniel is interested in a wide variety of careers including Cabinet making, defence forces, building, hospitality, glazier, marine biology/science and agrictrulture.

Jeffries, ConnorOct 09: Connor is interested in welding or fabricating as a career.

Kim H

Honey, KimOct 09: Kim is interested in Agricultural Science as a career.  She has a part time job in Brereton’s Bakery in Numurkah.  She would like to go to Uni to study Agriculture.

Madeline F-W

Farrant-Wilmore, MadelineOct 09: Madeline is interested in music (guitar & piano) and writes her own songs.  She would like a career in the music industry.

Jack

Fothergill, JackOct 09: Jack is interested in a career in building.  He is already undertaking Cert II Building and Construction and has had a number of work placements, the most recent of which is at Diverse Builders.

Austen

Dupleix, AustenOct 09:  Austen has trialled work experience in hospitality earlier this year but would be keen to watch a jeweller at work – Mr Emilio will use his contacts to try and get half day with a jeweller.

Allanah

Bowles, Allanah Oct 09: Allanah is yet to have her proper career chat with her Careers Advisor yet, but has shown an interest in childcare a s a career.

Quizes for Career Classes

Career class students at Numurkah Secondary College (Mr Kam & Mr Emilio’s classes) are invited to participate in the Careers Fast Track program.  This is a 3 step process.

  1. Complete the online quizzes (see link below)
  2. Complete a booklet prepared specially for you from the results of the quizzes
  3. Attend an interview with Mrs Scadden.

The following link will take you to a series of quizzes, these will tell you heaps of stuff about:

  1. Your preferences for further study
  2. Your preference for your career and work
  3. How to learn and study more effectively

Mr Kam’s Career Class – Sem 1 2009 has the following students in it:  Brody, Braiden, Bethany, Teirnan, Sean, Demi, Chelsea, Sam, Corey, Ryan, Adele, Nicholas, Beau, Ryan, Tory P, Ashleigh, Hayley, Madeline, Sara, Danielle, Matthew, Mason, Kirby, Kruze and Tori W.

April 2009: Tori is  interested in counselling.

June 2009: Tori completed work experience at Riverland Oilseeds Numurkah doing office work.  She had a fantastic week… you can read all about her week via the comment link.
